Settlements Administrator, Trade Settlements (GL/Excel/VBA):
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Settlements Administrator, Trade Settlements (GL/Excel/VBA) for a 3-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.
Settlements Administrator, Trade Settlements (GL/Excel/VBA) - Job Description:
The role involves ensuring all settlement activities and processes are completed accurately and timely within market time frames. The Settlements Administrator will provide high levels of service by responding to daily queries and requests regarding Security Trade Settlement and performing reconciliations for End of Day/Ledger Balancing.
Settlements Administrator, Trade Settlements (GL/Excel/VBA) - Responsibilities:
• Ensure all settlement activity and processes are completed with accuracy, timeliness, and completeness within market time frames.
• Provide a high level of service by responding promptly and accurately to daily queries and requests regarding Security Trade Settlement.
• Perform accurate and complete reconciliation for End of Day / Ledger Balancing.
• Reconcile cash and asset positions related to Settlements activity.
• Advise Manager of all significant issues, escalate immediate concerns/risk to the Management team as appropriate.
• Ensure that up-to-date desk operating procedures are maintained and accessible to team members and specific daily procedures are clearly documented.
• Proactively support the team by assisting with workload, sharing knowledge, and participating in cross-training.
Settlements Administrator, Trade Settlements (GL/Excel/VBA) - Mandatory Skills:
• University/College degree in business administration, finance, or equivalent.
• 2 years’ relevant Trade settlement work experience.
• Experience in Settlement Operations and experience with Settlement/Custody Applications.
• Experienced with GL (General Ledger) entries and reconciliations.
• Experience with MS Excel macros and VBA development.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Analytical and detail-oriented qualities.
Settlements Administrator, Trade Settlements (GL/Excel/VBA) – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Recognized financial industry qualifications (i.e., Canadian securities course or IFIC).
• Experience in the financial services industry (specifically CDS & DTC markets).
• Knowledge of systems employed by Securities Settlement including Arrow, CDS, DTCC, and TLM.
• MS Office – Word, PPT required, Power BI desired.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet very strict deadlines.
Settlements Administrator, Trade Settlements (GL/Excel/VBA) – Assignment Length:
This is a 3-month contract position with the possibility of extension based on performance.
Settlements Administrator, Trade Settlements (GL/Excel/VBA) - Start Date:
ASAP.
Settlements Administrator, Trade Settlements (GL/Excel/VBA) - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days in the office.
