Job Description
Senior Computer Application Support Consultant — SharePoint Online / Microsoft Dynamics 365
Location: Ottawa, with some remote flexibility
Clearance Level: Secret
Engagement Type: Contract, via Procom
About the Opportunity
Procom is recruiting on behalf of a federal government client for three (3) Senior Computer Application Support resources to support the design, implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise SharePoint Online and Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions.
Scope of Work
The successful candidate(s) will work closely with business, functional, and technical leads to lead and facilitate workshops that gather, analyze, and validate sites, processes, workflows, and web applications within the SharePoint Online (SPO) environment. This role involves documenting requirements for the setup, configuration, and use of Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Power Automate, as well as custom and third-party applications, while liaising with stakeholders to develop solutions, prepare documentation, and provide expert advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable SharePoint Online architectures supporting business, information management, and operational requirements, including site structures, hub models, metadata frameworks, and integrated content strategies
- Provide expert technical advice, impact assessments, and implementation recommendations to SharePoint Tenant Administrators and governance bodies
- Define and implement site hierarchies, hub associations, navigation models, content types, taxonomy, metadata schemas, and permissions structures
- Engage stakeholders to elicit requirements and translate operational and business needs into fit-for-purpose SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 solutions
- Configure and build SharePoint components (sites, libraries, lists, pages) and develop integrated Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) to automate processes
- Plan and support migration of content from legacy systems, aligning with retention policies, disposition schedules, and records management frameworks
- Design and recommend scalable access control models using Azure AD and SharePoint groups, applying least-privilege principles and mitigating security and governance risks
- Maintain and improve SharePoint solutions through troubleshooting, performance tuning, search optimization, scripting (PowerShell/PnP/Graph), and continuous monitoring
- Conduct testing and user acceptance activities, develop documentation and training materials, support change management, and monitor Microsoft 365 roadmap impacts
- Mentor non-developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and pair programming or training sessions
- Support full-cycle application development — database design, application coding, testing, and reporting — including data-driven dashboards to support business decisions
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and project stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and deliver quality products on time and within scope
Technical Environment / Tools
Microsoft Azure, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), Microsoft Dynamics 365, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Node.js, PowerShell, PnP/Graph scripting, and JSON
Mandatory Qualifications
Candidates must clearly demonstrate (not merely assert) the following in their resume:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
