Software Developer - ETL - Intermediate:
On behalf of our government client, Procom is searching for a Software Developer - ETL - Intermediate for a 4-month role. This position is onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

Software Developer - ETL - Intermediate - Job Description:
The Government of Ontario is undertaking a large-scale Data & AI transformation initiative with the Ontario Data Platform (ODP) to enhance data-driven decision-making. The project involves the development, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.

Software Developer - ETL - Intermediate - Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support business and operational needs.
• Create data models, measures, and calculations using DAX to deliver meaningful business insights.
• Implement data visualization best practices to ensure reports are intuitive, accessible, and actionable.
• Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
• Connect and integrate data from various enterprise data sources, including databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and data warehouses.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data quality, governance, and consistency across reporting solutions.
• Monitor and optimize report performance, data refresh schedules, and workspace administration.

Software Developer - ETL - Intermediate - Mandatory Skills:
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI data modeling concepts.
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and business intelligence best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage principles.

Software Developer - ETL - Intermediate – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience working with Databricks, including connecting Power BI to Databricks SQL Warehouses and Lakehouse data sources.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Platform services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, or Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience with enterprise data governance and data quality initiatives.
• Knowledge of Python, R, or other analytics tools.
• Experience supporting data and analytics platforms within a large public-sector or enterprise environment.

Software Developer - ETL - Intermediate – Assignment Length:
This is a 4-month contract position with a possible extension.

Software Developer - ETL - Intermediate - Start Date:
ASAP.

Software Developer - ETL - Intermediate - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, onsite 5 days a week.
