Software Developer - ETL - Senior:
On behalf of our Government Services client, Procom is searching for a Software Developer - ETL - Senior for an 11 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

Software Developer - ETL - Senior - Job Description:
This project involves the migration of data and files from a legacy application to a new solution. The role focuses on providing best practice migration solutions and managing all aspects of the data migration process, ensuring a seamless transition to the modernized system.

Software Developer - ETL - Senior - Responsibilities:
• Provide best practice migration solutions and oversee data and file migration from legacy applications to new solutions
• Establish strong working relationships with clients and analyze legacy data across various sources and formats
• Analyze, complete data profiling, and suggest pre-migration data cleansing activities
• Develop data migration strategy, data mapping, interfaces, and perform mock and actual conversions
• Translate technical system specifications into working, tested applications
• Troubleshoot technical problems during software package operations, including implementation and migrations
• Coordinate data file migration from heterogeneous platforms
• Define testing strategy and conduct testing to ensure data integrity and comparisons
• Perform post-migration audits and data reconciliation
• Generate data migration exception reports and perform necessary data cleansing
• Provide pre- and post-effective conversion support to business clients

Software Developer - ETL - Senior - Mandatory Skills:
• 7+ years of experience in developing and documenting ETL for data conversion and migration
• Extensive experience in data migration and planning for digital transformation
• Proficiency with relational databases like Oracle, MS SQL Server, Azure SQL Database
• Strong complex SQL development, data analysis, and problem resolution skills
• Experience with migrating document attachments from legacy systems
• Experience with cloud database technologies such as Azure SQL
• Experience with ETL tools like Azure Data Factory and Informatica

Software Developer - ETL - Senior – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Full life-cycle data conversion experience with enterprise systems
• Experience with mainframe data formats and non-relational data structures
• Experience ensuring scalability of data migration solutions
• Experience liaising with teams to understand migration requirements
• Strong communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills
