Software Developer
On behalf of our technology client, Procom is searching for a Software Developer for a contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Software Developer - Job Description:
Our client is hiring a contract Software Developer to build and extend our web applications. You will turn defined business requirements into working, tested code across our .NET and JavaScript stack, hosted on Microsoft Azure. This is a hands-on delivery role within an established project management process.

Software Developer - Responsibilities:
• Write, test, and ship application code against documented business requirements.
• Build and maintain features across the .NET back end and JavaScript front end.
• Deploy and support applications running on Azure and the supporting web infrastructure.
• Work through the sprint or project plan set by the project manager, and keep task status current.
• Partner with the QA engineer on defect triage, reproduction, and fixes.
• Take direction and code review feedback from the lead developer.
• Document what you build so the next person can pick it up.

Software Developer - Mandatory Skills:
• Post-secondary education in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Commercial development experience with .NET (C#, ASP.NET) and modern JavaScript.
• Working experience with Microsoft Azure — app services, storage, and deployment.
• Understanding of web infrastructure: hosting, networking basics, environments, and release paths.
• Experience working inside a formal project management methodology and workflow.
• Version control discipline and comfort with code review.

Software Developer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Azure DevOps or comparable CI/CD tooling.
• SQL Server and relational data modelling.
• Experience contributing to test automation.
• Prior contract or consulting experience in a mid-to-large enterprise environment.

Software Developer – Assignment Length:
This is a 3-year contract position with a preference for candidates who would convert to permanent.
