Job Summary
The Software Engineer 4 is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting enterprise content management, records management, and digital workplace solutions utilizing Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Purview technologies. This role serves as a technical leader, partnering with business stakeholders, architects, infrastructure teams, and product owners to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant solutions that support digital transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SharePoint architecture, records management, cloud-based collaboration platforms, application development, integrations, and modern software development practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate legacy Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platforms and develop migration strategies to Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Purview.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain SharePoint solutions that support document management, collaboration, records management, and business process automation.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Purview retention policies, records management controls, and information governance requirements.
  • Design and implement records management workflows and automated business processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership, product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and define technical solutions.
  • Develop project estimates, resource plans, and implementation schedules in partnership with project management teams.
  • Maintain and enhance existing platform architecture while supporting scalability, security, and performance improvements.
  • Design and develop integrations between SharePoint, enterprise applications, cloud services, and third-party platforms.
  • Partner closely with Infrastructure and Architecture teams to develop and optimize cloud-based solutions.
  • Establish and maintain development standards, coding practices, governance processes, and documentation requirements.
  • Perform code reviews, peer reviews, and solution validation to ensure compliance with organizational standards and best practices.
  • Manage technical challenges, coordinate across multiple project teams, and support stakeholder communication throughout project lifecycles.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and solution delivery activities.
  • Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing across development teams.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Subject Matter Expert-level experience delivering enterprise web-based solutions and digital workplace platforms.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft SharePoint architecture, administration, design, and workflow development.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Purview, records management, retention policies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Advanced experience with relational database design and development using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Expertise in API design, systems integration, and modern application architecture.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, RUP, or similar software development methodologies.
  • Proficiency with GitHub, including branching, merging, release management, and source code governance.
  • Experience managing source code conflict resolution and coordinating releases across development teams.
  • Strong object-oriented programming experience.
  • Ability to manage project schedules, priorities, deliverables, and resource coordination.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

  • Experience with build and deployment tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Gradle, Git, or SVN.
  • Strong troubleshooting and production support experience in enterprise environments.
  • Experience mentoring developers and providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
