Software Engineer III (SAP-EAM Technical)

Assignment Details

• Duration: 12-month contract
• Location: Onsite, Houston, TX (5 days per week)
• On-call: Rotation for emergency issues outside business hours

Position Overview
This position supports the SAP PM/SM and PS modules and provides technical expertise for projects, system enhancements, and production support. The engineer works closely with other SAP ABAP and configuration groups, including SAP-CCS, SAP-MM, SAP-FI, and SAP-BW. Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflow (RICEFW) in the EAM/PM, SM, and PS modules
• Gather requirements with functional consultants, business analysts, and end users, analyze business processes, and propose technical solutions
• Design and implement custom functionality, user exits, and enhancements that improve SAP performance and meet business goals
• Debug and troubleshoot complex ABAP programs
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance tuning of ABAP programs
• Provide production support: troubleshoot to determine whether the fix is process, development/ABAP, security, or configuration
• Join blueprinting and project design sessions when assigned, to understand business requirements and validate process approaches
• Keep a good understanding of SAP technical concepts, releases, and patches, including applying OSS notes
• Stay current on ABAP technologies and tools and recommend improvements
• Collaborate with functional consultants, project managers, and technical teams to deliver quality SAP solutions on time and within budget
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to peers, especially on PM-related components
• Encourage new process and technology ideas that improve systems or workforce productivity while staying sensitive to service costs
• Maintain partnerships with the client organization and with functional and IT team members
• Take part in the on-call rotation for emergency issues outside business hours
• Perform all work with a high degree of effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy

Experience

• 10+ years of SAP development experience in the PM, SM, and PS modules, with ABAP required
• Experience maintaining the SAP technical infrastructure within ECC
• Experience with SAP web and integration technologies
• Hands-on experience integrating SAP with external applications, such as web applications
