Software Engineer:
On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Software Engineer for a 3 month contract role. 

Software Engineer - Job Description:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and support modern cloud-native applications and data solutions on AWS. The role involves hands-on development and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.

Software Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Analyze and recommend solutions to improve processes and optimize development workflows.
• Contribute to technical documentation, standards, and reusable frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies.
• Utilize Jira and Confluence for work management and team collaboration.
• Implement source control best practices using Git and Bitbucket.
• Design and maintain software applications using Python and Java.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD.
• Assist with infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible.
• Work with AWS services to build scalable, reliable solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement preventive solutions.

Software Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• Proficiency in Python as the primary development language
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, EventBridge, and SQS
• Knowledge of Git/Bitbucket for source control
• Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline automation
• 2–5 years in software engineering or application development
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence

Software Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation
• Knowledge of Snowflake and AWS Data & Analytics Services
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding of AWS Security & Governance
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot

Software Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a 3 month contract position.

Software Engineer - Start Date:
ASAP.

Software Engineer - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Primarily remote with 1-2 days onsite per quarter.
