On behalf of our Automotive client, Procom is searching for a Software Test Automation Engineer for a 12 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Waterloo, ON office.

Software Test Automation Engineer, Embedded Systems - Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Test Automation Engineer to join a team focused on comprehensive ECU level (L2) testing for body control module feature applications within a next-generation vehicle software architecture. This role is critical to ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of embedded software components through robust test design, automation, execution, and continuous improvement.

Software Test Automation Engineer, Embedded Systems - Responsibilities:
• Analyze software requirements to inform test strategy and ensure comprehensive test coverage
• Design, author, and review detailed L2 test cases covering Smoke Test, Sanity Test, Feature Regression Test, and Stability Test types
• Configure and integrate test tools including test management systems, defect tracking systems, test automation frameworks, measurement tools, and debuggers
• Develop, automate, and maintain robust test suites and scripts (e.g. Gtest, Python) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines
• Oversee and perform automated test execution for nightly engineering and release builds, ensuring comprehensive logging and monitoring
• Identify, report, and analyze test failures to pinpoint defects, managing defect tracking and retesting activities
• Generate detailed test execution reports summarizing pass/fail rates, execution progress, and coverage metrics
