On behalf of our client, Procom is searching for a Senior Project Manager – Lodestar Replacement for a 12-month contract role, with potential extension. Location is Edmonton preferred, with remote flexibility (please confirm on-site expectations before posting).

Senior Project Manager Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead IT projects related to settlement and billing, including implementation of Oracle Market Settlement Management to replace Lodestar and a custom-built solution to replace the Imbalance and Reporting Information System (IRIS) within Gas Distribution. The role is accountable for end-to-end delivery of a complex, business-led technology initiative supporting Gas Regulatory and Electric Meter Data Management (MDM) and Load Settlement groups, reporting to the Delivery Assurance Manager.

Senior Project Manager- Responsibilities:

• Manage the full project lifecycle, aligning implementation with business, regulatory, and operational needs
• Establish the project charter, integrated schedule, governance, delivery plan, resource plan, budget, and reporting cadence
• Manage Oracle and third-party implementation partners, contracts, SOWs, work authorizations, deliverables, dependencies, and milestone acceptance
• Coordinate Gas Regulatory and Electric MDM/Load Settlement stakeholders on shared requirements, impacts, and decision points
• Establish and maintain credibility with executive sponsors, steering committees, business owners, and delivery teams
• Present concise updates on milestones, decisions, risks, issues, dependencies, budget, and schedule variance
• Maintain audit-defensible project documentation, including decision records, approvals, RAID items, change requests, and status reporting
• Work with the OCM Lead on stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and business readiness
• Coordinate business analysis, solution design, architecture, security, privacy, data migration, integrations, testing, cutover, and operational transition activities
• Proactively identify, mitigate, escalate, and resolve delivery risks and cross-functional dependencies

Senior Project Manager- Mandatory Skills:

• 10+ years of project management experience across complex technology programs
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise system replacement or modernization initiatives
• Expertise in detailed project plans, integrated schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, and dependency management
• Experience managing Oracle or comparable enterprise application implementations
• Experience managing system integrators, vendor contracts, SOWs, and milestone-based deliverables
• Strong proficiency with MS Project, Power BI, and advanced Excel
• Experience with Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery methodologies
• Experience developing and delivering executive and steering committee presentations
• Risk, issue, decision, assumption, and change-control management expertise
• Experience coordinating solution configuration, data migration, system integration, testing, cutover, and transition to operations
• Familiarity with IT governance, cybersecurity, privacy, architecture, and structured delivery controls

Senior Project Manager– Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in regulated utilities
• Experience with meter data management, market settlement, load settlement, regulatory systems, billing, or adjacent utility platforms
• Experience supporting regulatory or audit-driven initiatives
• Familiarity with managed service provider engagement processes
• Business analysis and process-improvement experience
• Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) for reporting, analysis, or stakeholder communications
