Strategic Sourcing Manager- Senior

Job Description

BMO is currently sourcing for a Strategic Sourcing Manager- Senior .This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto (3-4 days in office per week).

Role Overview:
This role supports the People & Culture team and the broader BMO enterprise by driving strategic sourcing initiatives. The Strategic Sourcing Manager- Senior leads sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, and contract management to deliver value, reduce risk, and align with BMO’s purpose-driven culture. The position focuses on Human Resources categories including Administration Services, Benefits, Recruitment, Relocation, and Training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a trusted advisor to business partners, primarily within People & Culture.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives including RFI/RFP processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Develop and execute category management frameworks and sourcing strategies.
• Conduct market assessments to identify preferred suppliers and evaluate risk.
• Collaborate with suppliers to drive innovation, create value, and mitigate risk.
• Incorporate supplier risk assessments into agreements, working with Legal, Regulatory Compliance, and Risk teams.
• Use data analysis and performance metrics to inform strategic recommendations and continuous improvement.

Must-Have Skills:

• 3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and contract negotiations.
• Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes and controls.
• Skilled in contract negotiation, business analysis, and project delivery.
• Proficient in Excel and data analysis.
• Ability to lead end-to-end sourcing and contract negotiation processes.
• Experience working in a large, complex organization with regulatory requirements.
• Comfortable making data-driven decisions and synthesizing insights from research.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience in banking or financial institutions.
• Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Demonstrates assertiveness and excellent contract knowledge.
• Ability to influence offers and negotiate with senior stakeholders.
• Experience building strategic plans independently based on analysis.
