Systems Administrator - Private Cloud, Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), and Google Compute Engine
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Systems Administrator - Private Cloud, Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), and Google Compute Engine for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Systems Administrator - Private Cloud, Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), and Google Compute Engine - Job Description:
In this role, you will support the bank’s Private Cloud backup service, focusing on deploying, operating, troubleshooting, and supporting backup, restoration, and migration activities. You will work closely with internal cloud teams to ensure scalable, cost-effective solutions are implemented, following GTEP Enterprise Architecture standards.

Systems Administrator - Private Cloud, Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), and Google Compute Engine - Responsibilities:
• Deploy, operate, troubleshoot, and support backup, restoration, and migration services across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Design and develop Backup Testing as a Service capability.
• Partner with technical and business experts to ensure migrated applications meet recovery and business requirements.
• Participate in scheduled changes and troubleshooting activities, including occasional non-standard working hours.
• Manage and maintain backup and NAS platforms across on-premises and Google Cloud environments.
• Provide Level 2 support and coordinate vendor escalations for transitioned services.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, including build guides, runbooks, and technical specifications.

Systems Administrator - Private Cloud, Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), and Google Compute Engine - Mandatory Skills:
• 10+ years of experience as a Backup Administrator with expertise in technologies like Cohesity, Dell EMC Data Domain, NetBackup, Veeam, or similar.
• 2+ years of experience administering Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2022 and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.x/10.x.
• 5+ years of experience with networking technologies and operational support.
• 5+ years of experience supporting agent-based backups for SQL Always On Availability Groups (AAG), Oracle, DB2, and similar database platforms.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Systems Administrator - Private Cloud, Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), and Google Compute Engine – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• 2+ years of experience with VMware vSphere Hypervisor and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization.
• Experience with scripting and automation, including REST APIs, PowerShell, and Python.
• Previous experience in banking or financial services.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Systems Administrator - Private Cloud, Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), and Google Compute Engine – Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension.

ASAP.

Systems Administrator - Private Cloud, Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), and Google Compute Engine - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Hybrid work arrangement with 3 days in the office (Tuesday to Thursday).
