Systems Engineer – Python – Unix/Linux
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Systems Engineer – Python – Unix/Linux for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3-4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Systems Engineer – Python – Unix/Linux - Job Description:
This role involves supporting the migration of ETL data pipelines from SAS to Python, focusing on infrastructure onboarding. The project includes converting existing SAS code to Python and managing the deployment of pipelines to production servers while addressing cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

Systems Engineer – Python – Unix/Linux - Responsibilities:
• Onboard infrastructure to support the migration of ETL data pipelines from SAS to Python
• Assist in converting SAS code to Python
• Manage the automation and deployment of pipelines to production servers
• Address any vulnerabilities identified by Cybersecurity

Systems Engineer – Python – Unix/Linux - Mandatory Skills:
• 3-5 years of experience in Python development or DevOps roles
• 2+ years working with Unix/Linux systems administration
• Proficiency in Python (intermediate to advanced level)
• Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub)
• Knowledge of SQL and database management
• Experience with SAS programming and analytics
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes

Systems Engineer – Python – Unix/Linux – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Knowledge of Commercial Banking
• Familiarity with DBT
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Snowflake)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Ansible)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools

Systems Engineer – Python – Unix/Linux – Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract position.

ASAP.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada - Hybrid with 3-4 days in the office.
