On behalf of our technology client, Procom is searching for a Technical Business Analyst for a contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Calgary or Edmonton.

Technical Business Analyst - AI and Automation - Job DescriTechnology is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support our AI and Automation domain. This role involves translating complex business processes into actionable, testable logic for our technical development teams. The Technical BA will be responsible for managing the requirements lifecycle for automation initiatives, from initial elicitation to user acceptance testing.

Technical Business Analyst - AI and Automation - Responsibilities:
• Elicit and document automation opportunities, current-state scenarios, and business rules.
• Identify and document required inputs, source systems, data dependencies, and operational constraints.
• Define comprehensive Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
• Document exception types and manual handling steps for scenarios the system cannot auto-resolve.
• Collaborate with technical teams to define unstructured data sources for AI models.
• Manage and track requirement-related gaps and technical assumptions.
• Maintain rigorous traceability from primary rules through to user stories and test cases.
• Translate approved business rules into draft user stories and objective acceptance criteria.
• Conduct technical discovery to map business use cases to the Google Cloud AI and Automation portfolio.

Technical Business Analyst - AI and Automation - Mandatory Skills:
• Recognized Business Analysis certifications (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, ECBA).
• Experience in technical business analysis for automation or AI environments.
• Familiarity with Google Suite and its embedded AI tools.
• Understanding of requirements taxonomy and data integration constraints.
• Ability to ask targeted, system-agnostic discovery questions.
• Excellent communication skills using explicit, binary, and testable language.
• Strong leadership, rapport, and negotiation skills.

Technical Business Analyst - AI and Automation – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Familiarity with AI assistants like Copilot.
• Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platforms like UiPath.
• Progressive experience in supporting workflow or agentic AI approaches.
• Bonus points for familiarity with AI-assisted solutions.
• Deeply familiar with Google Cloud AI tools like Vertex AI, Gemini models, and Document AI.

Technical Business Analyst - AI and Automation – Assignment Length:
This is a contract position, the duration is to be determined.

Technical Business Analyst - AI and Automation - Assignment Location:
Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days in-office.
