Technical Writer, Senior. ONSITE (OTTAWA)THIS CONTRACT HAS A TBD START DATE AND GOES FOR 12 MONTHS LATER (GREAT CHANCE OF EXTENSION)

Mandatory Skills
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience within the last ten (10) years providing technical writing and documentation services in a large, complex IT environment.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience within the last five (5) years coordinating documentation development with multiple stakeholders, including technical teams, project managers, and functional authorities, within large or complex IT environments.
The scope of work of the Contract includes, but is not limited to:
The Technical Writer, Senior professional will be expected to execute the following tasks during this contract, but not limited to:
- 2.2.1. Identify the requirements for various documents, including manuals, design documentation, test documentation, user guides, training material, online help, and implementation guides for each major capability release;
- 2.2.2. Coordinate the development and formal release of documentation with various functional managers and team leads for each major capability release;
- 2.2.3. Develop templates for various documents that follow Government of Canada documentation standards for each major capability release;
- 2.2.4. Plan, design, edit and in some cases generate final releasable versions of various documents, including manuals, design documentation, test documentation, user guides, training material, online help, and implementation guides for each major capability release;
- 2.2.5. Conduct quality assurance reviews of various documents for each major capability release;
- 2.2.6. Participate in various design reviews including preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews and Formal Qualification Reviews and capture meeting minutes and records of decision;
- 2.2.7. Capture meeting minutes and records of decision for other meetings as required;
- 2.2.8. Coordinate/assist with the translation of various documents for each major capability release;
- 2.2.9. Provide technical documentation advice and guidance to Project team as required
- 2.2.10. Draft briefing notes, presentations, status reports, agendas, minutes and other responses to Project as required;
- 2.2.11. Attend and actively participate in meetings and prepare records of discussion; and
- 2.2.12. Draft progress reports.
