Test Engineer, Automation Software:
On behalf of our automotive client, Procom is searching for a Test Engineer, Automation Software for a 12 month contract role. This position is fully onsite at our client’s Oakville, Ontario office.

Test Engineer, Automation Software - Job Description:
Procom is seeking an experienced Test Engineer, Automation Software to support Company's Wireless Connectivity team. This role focuses on testing and validating Wi-Fi connectivity features within next-generation connected vehicle platforms. The successful candidate will design and maintain automated test frameworks and develop Python-based test tools to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Test Engineer, Automation Software - Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and execute test plans for new Wi-Fi and connectivity features.
• Develop and maintain automated test tools, frameworks, and test scripts using Python.
• Create and support software libraries that interface with devices under test.
• Develop integrations with test management and defect tracking systems.
• Collaborate with software development and validation teams to implement automation solutions.
• Participate in Agile Scrum development sprints and contribute to team deliverables.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and identify root causes.
• Optimize software performance and improve automation framework reliability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver features spanning multiple vehicle systems.

Test Engineer, Automation Software - Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software testing or software validation.
• 3+ years of Python development experience.
• Strong understanding of software test automation methodologies and frameworks.
• Experience with object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience using source control tools such as Git.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Test Engineer, Automation Software – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Knowledge of Wi-Fi and/or cellular wireless technologies.
• Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience with Test Case Management tools (e.g., TestRail).
• Experience with Defect Tracking systems such as Jira.
• Familiarity with the Android ecosystem.

Test Engineer, Automation Software – Assignment Length:
This is a 12 month contract position.
