VM Rationalization Consultant:
On behalf of our technology client, Procom is searching for a VM Rationalization Consultant for a 3-month role. This position is a remote position with no onsite requirements at our client’s office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

VM Rationalization Consultant - Job Description:
Our client is undertaking a critical VMware migration project to exit VMware by the end of this year. This project involves VM rationalization and hypervisor conversion to alternative platforms, requiring immediate, hands-on execution rather than advisory.

VM Rationalization Consultant - Responsibilities:
• Support identity management initiatives, including assessment, design, and/or implementation.
• Conduct VM rationalization: inventory, assess, and right-size the virtual machine environment.
• Lead and/or execute hands-on migration away from VMware technologies to an alternative virtualization or hyperconverged platform.
• Provide practical, execution-focused guidance to accelerate delivery timelines and reduce project risk.
• Document migration approach, sequencing, and dependencies to support a clean cutover.
• Collaborate remotely with internal infrastructure and identity teams to align on priorities and timelines.

VM Rationalization Consultant - Mandatory Skills:
• Direct, hands-on experience performing hypervisor conversions off VMware at enterprise scale.
• Practical experience with VM rationalization and consolidation across large virtual environments.
• Able to step into rationalizations already in progress and keep pace with an aggressive, end-of-year timeline.
• Working knowledge of identity management platforms and identity modernization or migration approaches.
• Comfortable operating independently in a fully remote engagement with distributed stakeholders.
• Strong documentation skills to support handoff and knowledge transfer.

VM Rationalization Consultant – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with target virtualization platforms such as Nutanix, Hyper-V, or other VMware alternatives.
• Relevant certifications in virtualization, cloud infrastructure, or identity platforms.
• Prior consulting experience delivering infrastructure modernization engagements.

VM Rationalization Consultant – Assignment Length:
This is a 3-month initial contract, with the possibility of extension based on project scope and progress.

ASAP.

Remote position based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
